All-Terrain Wheelchairs

All-terrain wheelchairs are specially designed to traverse a wide range of natural terrains. They allow those with mobility challenges to access and enjoy outdoor recreation areas that might otherwise be inaccessible.

The chairs are free for the public to use and available for both children and adults at a growing number of parks. Each chair offers the option of allowing caretaker control or independent operation. This grants those with mobility issues the opportunity to explore nature freely – something that many take for granted.

We are actively working to advance the State’s efforts to help expand access to these wheelchairs to serve visitors across the state.

For a complete list of parks with all-terrain wheelchairs available, visit the Tennessee State Parks webpage. In addition, you can find information on reserving them for use (recommended).
